What an eye-opening experience!  Bouke finally hooked me up with some stats from my website, and I realized – people actually DO visit this site!  And oddly enough, more people visited my site than my boyfriend’s well-designed, well-thought out site.  (If you feel sorry for him, click here).

So welcome strangers!  Granted, you’ve probably all made it here by mistake, trying to see what dirt you could dish up when you type in “Carly Scott” on google; but hey!  I’ll take what I can get! My dirt is your dirt, I think that’s the saying.  You have provided the motivation to record the mundane activities of my daily life.  Ok, I’ll be honest here – it will probably be more like the mundane activities of my weekly life.  Or bi-weekly life.  But either way, glad that you can join me!

I have to admit, even without the exhibition, the landscape here is just unbelievably stunning.  The desert valleys and mountains are dotted with towering seguaro cacti – all hundreds of years old, the rocks range from warm browns to iron reds, the low bush and prickly plants all make for such a rugged atmosphere.  Despite being overly populated, this region just seems vast and endless.   And then there’s the sun….Heavenly!  I think I could actually imagine saying goodbye to Amsterdam and becoming a cowgirl in the “wild west”.  Ach, if it wasn’t for that cute boy I like, and that school where I sometimes study, and that nice man I like to call “pa”, and that place known as “home”.  If it weren’t for those things, I would definitely leave it all behind, and ride off into the Arizona sunset…

4) Try to see the positive side of EVERY situation:  Check!

1) Learn to let it go! Holy Moley, this one’s going to be difficult.  I try, I try, I try!  But life has decided to challenge me lately.  It’s as if some higher power thought it would be funny to throw just one more exam my way… 

4) Try to see the positive side of EVERY situation! eg-”NOT writing consistently on my website only gives me MORE to write about”

3) Make more time for myself!   It’s ok to be a little bit selfish!  I figure in the end it will help me to find my “happier” self.  Carly is not fun to be around when she’s crabby.  

2) Stay in touch! This applies to friends, family, and even my website.  This disappearing act of mine will hopefully, well…disappear (oooh, that’s deep). AND FINALLY the big number…

1) Learn to let it go! Too much time in my life is dedicated to holding on to anger, sadness, jealousy, loneliness, disappointment, and fear.  And what would that accomplish were I to die tomorrow?  By freeing up wasted energy, I am sure to have a much happier and healthier 2009!

Now I’m back with new stories and odd ramblings, hopefully of interest to somebody other than myself. But, you’ll have to wait, eager reader of mine.  Tonight, I’m pooped.  Tot zo!
